A Texas woman is warning other women on TikTok after finding a tracking device in her purse after a night out.

In the now-viral clip, which has been viewed over a million times and has almost 190,000 likes, Sheridan Ellis explained that she went out for dinner with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday on Saturday. She says that she located the device at the end of the night as she cleaned out her purse.

“If you don’t know what this is, it’s a Tile. It’s basically a tracker. People put it on their keys and whatnot,” Ellis explains. The young woman also added that the device was not hers, and she immediately removed its battery. She pleaded with other women to keep a close eye on their bags.

“Check your purses and stay safe out there.”

In the comment section, Ellis said that before she made it home, she confirmed that the Tile did not belong to anyone at the dinner.

The Tile tracker is a gadget that is quickly gaining popularity. It is designed to help people locate small personal items often misplaced, such as phones and keys.

Ellis confirmed that she did not report the incident to the police as of yet.
