Deep Fried Towel

Woman Served Deep-Fried Towel Instead of Chicken in Fast-Food Order

Maybe it’s a new meat alternative? A woman in the Philippines said she was shocked to discover a deep-fried towel in her chicken order from a restaurant, Jollibee.

Alique Perez wrote about her deep-fried surprise in a post on Facebook, saying, “This is really disturbing … How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even fry it!?!?”

Perez’s post has been shared nearly 100,000 times. She said she ordered the chicken meal from the restaurant in the city of Taguig through a third-party food delivery service called Grab.

Perez explained that she realized something wasn’t right after she had trouble cutting into what she thought was her son’s chicken order.

Perez said she had to use her hands to rip apart the batter and discovered a “deep-fried towel” inside.

The horrified mother posted a video of the blue cloth, which is completely encrusted in the fried batter.

“Worst experience ever,” she complained, as the camera zoomed in on the “meal.”

Jollibee did not immediately respond when approached for comment. Perez’s Facebook post did not specify whether she reached out to the restaurant.
