An Oklahoma mother who won $2 million in the California lottery less than a year ago was fatally shot by her husband, who also killed their 1-year-old daughter. He then killed himself.
Tiffani Jill, 31, and her daughter Leanne were found dead inside their Calera, Oklahoma home on July 30, KXII News reported.
John Donato, 42, was also found dead. All three suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
Three other children at the home were at the location when the shooting took place but was unharmed. They remain in state custody, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
In November, Hill won more than $2 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket she purchased in Valley Springs, California.
Shortly after, she married Donato, and they relocated to Oklahoma.
An attorney hired by Hill’s family stated that her winnings caused friction in their marriage.
“Could that have sparked the argument? We’ll never have any way of knowing. But I do know there were times it caused conflict between them,” Theresa McGehee stated.
The remaining money from the lottery winnings will remain in a trust for Hill’s remaining children.
