Tragedy Strikes In Fort Worth, Texas: Woman Who Used a Wheelchair Mauled By Canine She Took In Days Prior

Sharon Baldwin, a 60-year-old Texas resident, is now deceased after suffering life-threatening injuries from a stray dog she welcomed into her home days prior. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

On March 28, Fort Worth officers responded to the attack of a woman being bitten by a dog. It was later reported that authorities believed Baldwin might have accidentally injured the dog, causing the canine to respond violently. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to PEOPLE, Medical examiners officially ruled Baldwin’s death as “mauling by canine.” Baldwin, who was bounded by a wheelchair, was bitten on her arms, neck, and shoulders. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It was revealed in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that an acquaintance, who resided with Baldwin at her home, was the one who found the dog and brought him home days before Baldwin’s attack. The dog was only there to stay with them until the original owner was found.
