The remains of a 40 year old mother of three were found shortly after she went on a date with a man she met online.
Ingrid Lyne was last seen heading to a Seattle Mariners baseball game to meet with John Charlton, 37. Things seemed to be going well, however friends became worried when she did not return to pick her children up the next day.
Police recovered Lyne’s remains Saturday afternoon in a neighborhood less than 3 miles away from Safeco Stadium. Wrapped in plastic bags and tossed in a recycle bin were Ingrid Lyne’s body parts, including her foot and head.
John Robert Charlton was arrested while police continue to investigate. It was Lyne’s ex-husband that reported her missing around 10:10am Saturday morning when he tried to drop their three daughters off and noticed their mother hadn’t been home. Lyne’s purse and cell phone were found in her home. Her car was reported stolen, but was later found in downtown Seattle.
Lyne’s friends began circulating photos of her and Charlton on Facebook in hopes that someone has seen her. They became worried when Charlton could not be reached, despite the fact he was posting bizarre messages on Facebook.
Charlton was arrested at his home. This wouldn’t be the first time he had a brush with the law, though. According to Daily Mail, he’s been convicted of felony theft in Montana in 2009, negligent driving in Washington state in 1998, and a second-degree felony for aggravated robbery in Utah in 2006.
There’s no word as to how long, or how well Lyne knew Charlton before going out on a date with him, but it appears she tried to take necessary precautions, considering that her friends knew how to get in contact with him.
