Lamar Odom recently indulged in an interesting form of self-care by undergoing a salmon sperm facial.
The two-time NBA champion and ex-husband of Khloé Kardashian visited renowned Beverly Hills aesthetic surgeon Dr. Robert Dorfman. An expert in aesthetic anti-aging and regenerative medicine, Dorfman utilized micro-needling with Rejuran salmon sperm DNA on Odom’s face.
This skincare procedure, typically priced around $3,200, is designed to rejuvenate the skin and enhance the complexion, adding a much more youthful glow. With Lamar opting for this trendy treatment, it appears this may be his goal.
For those unfamiliar with salmon sperm, it is packed with benefits. It boasts anti-inflammatory properties that can calm and soothe the skin and help repair and regenerate skin cells. This can be particularly helpful during breakouts or allergic reactions. Additionally, salmon sperm offers UV protection.
Odom may have drawn inspiration from his former sister-in-law, mega-influencer Kim Kardashian, who previously shared on “The Kardashians” that she, too, tried the salmon sperm facial. “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston has also joined the trend, revealing in a WSJ Magazine interview that an aesthetician recommended the treatment to her, and she quickly became a fan.
Animal byproducts are not a foreign concept in skincare. In addition to salmon sperm, beef tallow is also being used to treat dry skin, scarring, and acne.
