Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard is hitting back at a woman accusing him of filming their sexcapades without her knowledge.
In May, a woman only identified in her lawsuit as Jane Doe sued the NFL player for allegedly videotaping her in the bedroom without consent. According to her, Howard took things a step further by sending the racy footage to others, some of whom were women that Howard was pursuing. The victim alleged that he used the video to woo other ladies into having sex with him.
Doe claimed that someone informed her of this in September after seeing the amateur pornographic images of her and other women that Howard had distributed. In court docs obtained by The Daily Mail, Doe maintained that Howard inflicted severe “mental anguish” and “damage to her reputation.”
She is seeking at least $100,000 in compensation.
However, according to TMZ, Howard is not taking these allegations lightly. In his own filing on Monday, he asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
One issue the 30-year-old pointed out is Doe’s desire to hide her identity. He also accused her of trying to extort him prior to the May filing, claiming she contacted him seeking “presumably millions of dollars.”
“Her anonymous lawsuit is not compliant with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, wildly at odds with due process, and further creates the practical problem of one-sidedly prejudicing the public and potential jury pool,” Howard’s attorney, Brad Sohn, wrote.
Even with Howard disputing Doe’s lawsuit, this is not the first time a woman has come after him for sexual claims. In March, a separate accuser sued Howard for infecting her with genital herpes. She dropped the suit, though it is unclear why.
As of now, a judge has not ruled on Howard’s motion.
