Xscape Reacts to Biggie’s “Ugly” Diss and Jermaine Dupri’s Comments: “Somebody Thought We Were Cute” [Video]

Xscape didn’t bite their tongues when they sat down with The Morning Hustle to set the record straight about Biggie’s shady lyrics and Jermaine Dupri’s recent comments.

The R&B legends addressed some old disrespect that’s been making its way back into the convo, mainly, that time Biggie Smalls said they were “ugly” in one of his songs.

Lore’l kept it real and asked how they felt about those bars, especially now that Jermaine Dupri recently claimed it was hard to market the group because “nobody found them attractive.”

Kandi didn’t hold back: “Well, somebody thought we were cute,” she said. “We dropped them albums and went platinum each time so he must’ve saw something.”

She also admitted she was the only one in the group who wasn’t so forgiving. “The girls are more forgiving than I am.”

Kandi even mentioned that Biggie once tried to apologize, but she wasn’t trying to hear it.

Tiny backed her up and added, “Somebody came and said that Biggie wanted to talk to y’all.” But, nobody went to talk to Biggie but her.

She said he came over, real nice and apologetic. According to Tiny, Biggie said, “I don’t know what I was thinking, I’m ugly as hell.”

Tiny made it clear Biggie was trying to make things right and even showed up front row at their shows to support.

Then she dropped a chilling detail about Biggie’s apology, saying he died not long after.

“Probably 20–30 minutes later.”

Xscape might’ve been called out back in the day, but they let their platinum plaques talk now.
