The half-brother of late rapper XXXTentacion is suing his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, for allegedly hiding money from the rapper’s estate.
X’s half-brother Corey Pack filed the suit against Bernard last week, claiming that she has been shuffling money from the estate to multiple shell companies. Pack’s attorney, Robert Stok, says that the “fraudulent transfer complaint seeks to recover assets being transferred from the probate estate by XXX’s mother, Cleo Bernard, in order to deprive our client Corey Pack, of a recovery, if he’s successful in his efforts to secure his inheritance rights either under his late brother’s trust or will.”
According to the lawsuit, Brown has a 50 percent stake in the estate, while Pack and another of X’s half-brothers have only 25 percent interest.
This lawsuit is the second of its kind in a matter of months. Bernard was sued back in June by Pack’s mother, Jodi Kavney, who says that her son was entitled to a fair share of XXXTentacion’s estate. Kavney noted that an alleged deal made with the mother of XXX’s son pushed Pack out of the estate. She was hoping to recover assets she said were “improperly and surreptitiously transferred.”
XXXTentacion’s estate is valued at over $50 million, though the new lawsuit does not detail how much money his mother was hiding. Bernard has denied all allegations.
