Ye is preparing to perform in São Paulo on November 29, but Brazilian authorities are making it clear: no Nazi imagery or lyrics will be tolerated.
A formal complaint led by Councilwoman Cris Monteiro prompted the São Paulo State Prosecutor’s Office to issue a clear directive. “Heil Hitler,” a track Ye is accused of planning to perform, could trigger immediate arrest. Prosecutor Ana Beatriz Pereira de Souza Frontini explicitly banned swastika T-shirts and Nazi symbolism of any kind.
The city’s mayor emphasized that police will be on-site, ready to detain “anyone who makes any apology for Nazism.” That includes Ye, his crew, and promoters Guilherme Cavalcante and Jean Fabrício Ramos, who could be charged with omission if rules are ignored.
Tickets remain on sale, but Ye’s team is reportedly scrambling to secure a venue amid the legal pressure. For context, Ye recently sought a public blessing from a prominent rabbi, hinting at an attempt to address his past, but Brazilian officials are not taking any chances.
Under Brazil’s strict anti-Nazi laws, even visual references can lead to jail time. Ye has not yet spoken out about São Paulo’s precautions.
