The artist formerly known as Kanye West is accusing Don Lemon of starting a rumor that he and his wife, Bianca Censori, were kicked out of the Grammys on Sunday night.
On Monday, Ye took to Instagram, posting a photo of Lemon along with a message: “This the goofball that started the rumor that me and my wife got kicked out the Grammies. 3 decades of innovating music and they always KOONS like this.”
However, there is no evidence Lemon was the source of the rumor. The claim spread after the X account Pop Base shared a post stating that Entertainment Tonight reported Kanye and Bianca were “escorted out of the Grammys after showing up uninvited.” The post included a screenshot of what appeared to be an ET Instagram post. However, the post appeared to have been taken down.
Shortly after, the former CNN anchor caught wind of Ye’s social media post and fired back with a heated response.
“First of all, Kanye. Yee, Ye, whatever your name is. I did not start a rumor about you being kicked out of the Grammys. I actually corrected it,” Lemon said in a video response.
He went on to explain that someone from Kanye’s own team approached him to help clear up the false reports, which had already spread widely.
“So first of all, get your sht straight. And you of all people, calling me a coon?”* Lemon continued, before taking a jab at Kanye’s past support for Trump. “Negro, that Make America Great Again hat must be too tight on your head.”

Sources close to the Recording Academy told TMZ that Kanye was an invited guest, nominated for Best Rap Song, and was never removed from the event. He and Bianca walked the red carpet, got into their car, and left on their own.
The couple caused a stir when they arrived at Crypto.com Arena, mainly due to Bianca’s outfit—a sheer top that left nothing to the imagination. While some speculated her look may have sparked controversy, law enforcement sources confirmed no complaints were made and security was never involved in their exit.
Kanye hadn’t attended the Grammys since 2015, making his appearance unexpected, especially considering his past comments that put him at odds with the Recording Academy. Several outlets ran with claims that he and Bianca were told to leave, but sources say they simply didn’t feel like staying.
