A summer intern has been hit with a hefty lawsuit by Kanye West’s fashion empire, Yeezy.
Ryan Inwards is accused of posting unauthorized social media posts. The lawsuit—filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday—says Inward’s postings of confidential photos on his Instagram account go against the non-disclosure agreement he signed.
Inwards signed the agreement, which includes a $500,00 liquidated damages provision, The Hollywood Reporter stated. The apparel company is seeking to enforce the fees for damages, considering the provision placed an upfront amount on contractual breaches meant to ensure compliance.
The agreement prohibits disclosing or disseminating confidential information on social media platforms. Inwards is accused of sharing non-public images on his account and hasn’t taken them down despite receiving cease and desist letters.
THR says the Instagram account with Inward’s username has zero posts.
On top of the half-a-million Yeezy is requesting, the company also is seeking punitive damages because it believes Inward is acting maliciously. The suit is also seeking an injunction, ordering that he turn over the images and be banned from making similar posts in the future.
