The legal spotlight is back on Dallas rapper Yella Beezy (Markies Deandre Conway) as his murder-for-hire trial is officially set for February 2, 2026. He faces a capital murder charge for allegedly orchestrating the 2020 shooting death of fellow Dallas rapper Mo3 (Melvin Noble Jr.).
Prosecutors allege Beezy arranged for Kewon Dontrell White to carry out the deadly ambush on Interstate 35 in Dallas. Mo3 tried to flee on foot but was shot multiple times and later died at the hospital. White is already serving nearly a decade in prison on related charges, while another alleged accomplice, Devin Maurice Brown, is set to face trial in late 2025.
Yella Beezy, who has maintained his innocence, was initially hit with a $2 million bond, later reduced to $750,000. He is currently under strict house arrest with GPS monitoring, though his attorneys have pushed for looser restrictions, arguing the rules are crippling his music career and income.
The trial date follows years of speculation and legal back-and-forth. With capital murder on the table, Beezy faces life in prison without parole, or even the death penalty under Texas law, if convicted.
The trial is expected to draw national attention not only because of the high-profile artists involved but also because it underscores how rap rivalries have tragically spilled into real life with devastating consequences.
