Yella Beezy, the rapper who is facing charges in the November 2020 murder of Mo3 (Melvin Noble), got a break this week.
A judge reduced his bond from $2 million to $750,000 after hearing testimony from his grandmother, Alma Jean Alexander, who said Beezy couldn’t afford the original amount.
Prosecutors argued Beezy’s past wealth, pointing out his bulletproof GNC Denali and mansion in Frisco, suggested he could pay, but Alexander shot that down, saying, “If he could make a two million bond, he’d be out.”
The judge agreed to lower the bond but with conditions, including no contact with witnesses or victims involved in the case.
Beezy is accused of hiring the alleged triggerman who shot Mo3 on I-35 before fleeing in his car. He is charged with “capital murder for remuneration,” which applies when a murder is committed in exchange for a benefit or financial payment upon the victim’s death.
