Dallas rapper Yella Beezy has been hit with a $2 million bond after being indicted for capital murder for remuneration in connection with the 2020 killing of fellow artist MO3.

According to a grand jury indictment, Beezy—whose real name is Markies Conway—allegedly hired Kewon White to carry out the murder of rapper Melvin Noble (known as MO3), who was gunned down in broad daylight on Interstate 35 in Dallas.

The indictment states Conway “intentionally and knowingly” caused Noble’s death by arranging for White to kill him in exchange for money. A judge officially set Beezy’s bond at $2 million following the indictment.

White, who was previously arrested in December 2020, is already serving a nine-year federal sentence for firearm possession as a convicted felon. He has also been charged with MO3’s murder.

Conway’s legal team has not yet released a statement, and both the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and Dallas Police Department have declined to comment due to the ongoing investigation.

This isn’t the rapper’s first run-in with the law. While he previously faced charges for weapon possession, sexual assault, and child endangerment, court records show those charges were ultimately dismissed.

Yella Beezy rose to national fame with his hit single “That’s on Me” and has collaborated with heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Gucci Mane, and Young Thug. He also opened for Beyoncé and Jay-Z during their On the Run II Tour.

MO3, whose music gained national attention with the 2019 hit “Errybody” and posthumous single “Outside,” was one of Dallas’ most promising voices before his tragic death.
