YFN Lucci’s release from prison has been a joyous occasion for the rapper and his family, with his parole now beginning.
Under the court’s terms, Lucci must live with his mother and undergo regular drug testing. Additionally, the “Thoughts to Myself” rapper must undergo regular drug testing and must not affiliate with any gangs or gang-related activity. Additionally, he can no longer own firearms or leave the state of Georgia without permission from his parole officer. His parole is scheduled to end in 2031.
The 33-year-old was initially arrested in January 2021 in connection to the murder of 28-year-old James Adams. Authorities alleged that Lucci was behind the wheel during a drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of Adams. Prosecutors claimed Adams was shot during the altercation and later forced out of the moving vehicle, suffering fatal injuries on the street as the car drove off without rendering aid. Lucci was later hit with a RICO charge. In 2024, 12 of the 13 counts against him were dropped, including the murder charge. He pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act and expressed remorse for his actions.
He was sentenced to 20 years, with 10 years to serve in prison and 10 years of probation. However, his incarceration was counted as time served, making him eligible for parole in May 2024 and ultimately being released this week. Lucci has shared several Instagram posts, showing him celebrating his freedom with his loved ones.
