YFN Lucci has been released from prison just one year after being sentenced.
The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed that he was released Friday morning.
Lucci pleaded guilty in January 2024 to one count of violating the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act and was sentenced to 20 years with 10 to serve. However, with the support of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, his early release was granted by the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Channel 2 Action News first reported that Willis had taken the unusual step of writing a letter to the parole board advocating for his release. In an interview last summer, Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, called the move “a powerful punch” and credited the letter as a key factor in securing his client’s freedom.
Lucci’s legal troubles stemmed from gang-related charges in Atlanta, where he was among several individuals indicted in a RICO case. His plea deal allowed him to avoid a lengthy trial and potentially harsher penalties.
