YFN Lucci became the target of a wild social media rumor on Wednesday claiming that he had been killed in prison. However, TMZ spoke with Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, who confirmed that his client is alive and well.
The rumor seemed to play off the recent passing of Rich Homie Quan, a former labelmate of YFN Lucci, and quickly gained traction as fans shared the unverified news from unreliable sources.
Lucci is currently serving a 10-year sentence after pleading guilty to a charge under the Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act. However, his legal team is currently working on securing his early release.
In July, the Fulton County District Attorney submitted a letter to the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles supporting Lucci’s early release. Findling explained that this move adds weight to their efforts, describing the letter as an important part of their argument for his release.
Although they are pushing for immediate release, Lucci could be free by January 2025.
