YSL rapper Young Thug‘s motion to suppress evidence found during an illegal search of his home has been granted.

Thugga, who is formally known as Jeffery Lamar Williams, is accused of being the co-founder of the gang Young Slime Life and has been charged in the RICO Act along with several other alleged associates.

The Atlanta rapper made his first appearance in court in several months on Thursday. His attorneys asked Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge Ural Glanville to return property that was seized during what they say was an illegal search of his home in 2015.

Authorities seized a cell phone, computer, and a small amount of marijuana, Fox5 Atlanta reported.

The cell phone was important for the defense to suppress because prosecutors extracted other evidence from it, which is evidence they wanted to quash from the upcoming trial.

Judge Glanville granted the attorneys’ motion to suppress the associated evidence from the upcoming trial.

Thugga and 27 others were indicted in May using Georgia’s RICO Act. Rapper Gunna was also listed as a defendant in the indictment.

The 88-page indictment accuses the defendants of being members of the Young Slime Life, or YSL, a subset of the Bloods street gang. Prosecutors also say the defendants have been involved in violent criminal activity that occurred in the city since 2012. Those alleged crimes were the illegal possession of multiple firearms, including a modified machine gun, street gang activity, and drug trafficking.

The Thursday hearing comes a day after rapper Gunna was released from jail after entering an Alford plea, which is an admission that the evidence against him would likely convict him but doesn’t necessarily admit he committed the crimes he is accused of.

He is now allowed to have any contact with any of the co-defendants.

The trial for Williams and his 25 co-defendants is set to begin Jan. 9.
