Young Thug has filed court documents with the Fulton County Clerk, requesting a quick trial in the ongoing RICO case.
The rapper is dealing with various legal issues that have halted his music career and caused significant frustration and irritation.
On May 9, 2022, Young Thug was indicted for allegedly leading the criminal street gang Young Slime Life, who is accused of causing violence in Atlanta through activities like murder, drug dealing, assaults, and carjackings.
Thug’s defense is insisting that YSL is a music label and not a criminal gang.
This formal request, delivered to the prosecutor and the presiding judge, Ural Glanville, emphasizes Young Thug’s determination to uphold his legal entitlements.
Brian Steel, Thug’s lawyer, said his client has been facing “torturous” conditions while incarcerated at Cobb County jail.
He also added that Thug was hospitalized for kidney issues after he gained significant weight from a processed diet with little nutritional value.
According to Steel, the rapper also has not seen the sun since his initial arrest, highlighting the severity of his confinement.
