Young Thug Files Fourth Bond Motion Amid Health Concerns

Young Thug claims that the protracted trial is negatively affecting his health in a fourth application for bond in the RICO indictment brought against YSL.

The newest request was submitted earlier this week in an effort by Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, who says the rapper has been “languishing” in Fulton County Jail since May 2022.

Steel upheld the Atlanta rapper’s innocence in his motion, and he said that he had “previously put forth compelling evidence, without a doubt, that conditions can be imposed which permit bond to be set.”

According to Steel, Thug (real name Jeffery Williams) shouldn’t be kept behind bars while he awaits trial because he is not a threat to society.

“Mr. Williams is not a risk to commit a crime and he’s not a risk to flee the jurisdiction and that’s what bond is about,” he said.

Steel added that Thug was “sleep-deprived” from waking up at 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. and not returning to jail until late, a routine that is interfering with his ability to prepare for the trial.

Earlier this year, the rapper could be seen slumped over his desk and laying his head on the table in courtroom footage.

Fans were alarmed by the viral video because they thought he appeared defeated or simply worn out.

Young Thug’s chances of being granted a temporary release from custody as he waits for Judge Ural Glanville’s decision seem slim given that he has already been rejected bond three times.
