R. Kelly’s channels have officially been removed from YouTube after the disgraced R&B singer was found guilty of sexually abusing women, girls, and boys.
A spokesperson for the Alphabet Inc. platform told Reuters in a statement: “We can confirm that we have terminated two channels linked to R. Kelly in accordance with our creator responsibility guidelines.”
The 54-year-old was found guilty on all nine charges against him last month, including racketeering and violating the Mann Act, which bars the transportation of “any woman or girl” across state borders for any “immoral purpose.”
On May 4, 2022, he faces sentencing of 10 years to life in prison.
According to the platform, RKellyTV and RKellyVevo channels were deactivated, he will no longer be able to create or operate new YouTube channels.
According to Reuters, his music will continue to be available on YouTube Music, YouTube’s audio streaming service and videos posted by other YouTubers will still be available.
