YouTube is pulling the plug on ad money for fully AI-created videos.
Starting July 15, 2025, any video that leans too hard on artificial intelligence won’t be eligible for monetization. This means videos built mostly by AI with little to no human effort.
That includes deepfakes, AI-generated voiceovers, synthetic interviews, or videos where digital tools recreate real people or events. This isn’t just a random policy change.
YouTube is responding to complaints about low-effort, misleading content cluttering the platform. Advertisers have started pulling back, worried about their brands being tied to fake or questionable videos.
The rise of AI tools made video creation easy, but it also opened the floodgates. Now, YouTube wants to slow that down and restore some control.
Creators still have time to pivot. If your content relies too heavily on AI with no real human creativity behind it, it’s time to rethink your strategy.
As other platforms watch closely, this could set the tone for how synthetic content is treated across the internet.
