During a recent interview, Kimberly Nicole Foster, the Harvard graduate and founder of the YouTube channel For Harriet, said that she was taking legal action against Nicki Minaj’s savage fans, the Barbz.
Last week, Foster slammed Minaj in a tweet: “Nicki is so clearly a horrible person. Negativity sticks to her like glue. Idk if we’ve ever seen this before.”
Over time, Foster says, the messages and texts she received from Nicki’s fans became more ominous as they became more frequent.
“It was normal, annoying stuff where I was like, ‘OK, block and move on,'” she said. “The messages became more threatening and dark, and then it started to be, ‘We’re gonna find you. I’m gonna kidnap you. I hope you get raped.”
A message was sent to Foster shortly after the tweet was posted, threatening to exploit her nieces’ school address and use them as “collateral damage.”
She then noticed Nicki seemed to encourage her fans’ behavior by liking tweets that referenced their harassment.
According to Foster, Minaj’s fans are willing to go to great lengths for any form of engagement.
“There’s an understanding among the Barbz that the harder they go for her—the more virulent the nastiness—there’s more of an opportunity for her to recognize them,” she said.
Nicki Minaj will not be named in the lawsuit; however, Foster is gathering information on those threatening her.
