During the ongoing RICO trial against Young Thug and his YSL collective, a co-defendant has identified Gunna as a member of the Crips.
On Monday, prosecutors questioned Trontavious “Slug” Stephens, alleged co-founder of YSL, after he agreed to a plea deal that required him to testify.
Prosecutors, who allege YSL’s affiliation with the Bloods gang, questioned Stephens about the presence of any Crips among the collective’s members, and he replied, “Yeah.”
Slug was then asked, “Is Gunna a Crip?”
He immediately replied: “Yeah.”
This isn’t the first time Gunna was connected to the Crips. In 2022, Gunna’s ties to the Shady Park Crips in Atlanta contributed to his denial of bond during the YSL RICO case.
Gunna’s attorney refuted the claims, asserting in court that “[My client] is not involved in any of the so-called Shady Park Crips matters.”
Last year, Stevens identified Young Thug and five YSL co-defendants as gang members, but Young Thug’s defense argued that YSL represents Young Stoner Life and is just a record label.
According to HipHopDX, Stephens has been an uncooperative witness for the past several weeks.
