Rapper Yak Gotti, real name Deamonte Kendrick, was stabbed Sunday at Fulton County Jail.
Gotti is one of two defendants still awaiting a verdict in the high-profile YSL RICO trial.
Authorities confirmed Kendrick suffered minor injuries from a sharp object.
“This is an active investigation to determine the aggressor in this incident and if charges will be pending,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Natalie Ammons said.
His lawyer, Doug Weinstein, shared in an X post Monday, “I spoke to Deamonte last night, and while he sounded tired, I expect him to make a full recovery.”
Weinstein added he hopes to see Kendrick in court soon and asked for prayers for him and others held in Fulton County Jail.
