Atlanta rapper FN DaDealer, signed to Young Thug’s YSL Records, was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that happened early last month.Â
Jakobe Moody, 20, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with felony murder and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of, or attempt to commit, certain felonies. He is being held without bond in the Fulton County Jail.Â
Moody is one of three suspects police were looking for in connection to a shooting at the Mechanicsville Cross apartments on June 5. Two of the three men are believed to be the shooters.
“Two males approached the victim while he was in his car and fired multiple rounds,” APD Capt. Jeff Childers told FOX 5. After the shooting, three men fled in a black Dodge Charger without a tag. Police have not released any other information about the other two suspects.Â
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Tremaine Glasper. Moody’s mother, Latonya, told WBS-TV that Moody and Glasper were friends. The family believes this is a case of mistaken identity and plans to hire an attorney.Â
“He ain’t no gang banger,” she told the outlet. “My son doesn’t have a record. He has a little girl, and he’s focusing on his music.”
Moody signed with YSL Records in 2020, becoming the label’s youngest signee. He appeared alongside Young Thug and Gunna on the label’s Slime Language 2 compilation album. His debut mixtape, Big Deal, was released in 2021.Â
