The RICO trial against rapper Young Thug and his YSL associates has been paused indefinitely as it enters its 100th day.

Presiding Judge Ural Glanville ordered a halt to the proceedings on Monday. This decision comes after motions were filed seeking his recusal from the case, which now need to be reviewed by another judge before the trial can continue.

Judge Glanville stated there’s no timeline for the recusal decision, leaving the trial in limbo. Prosecutors expressed concern about the delay and requested an expedited process for the jurors’ sake. However, Glanville maintained that “the rules of transfer and recusal are pretty clear.”

This isn’t the first time Glanville has faced motions for his recusal; he’s already denied three previous motions. Last week, the Georgia Supreme Court decided not to pause the case, adding another layer of complexity to the proceedings.

During the hearing, Judge Glanville also addressed the controversial June 10 ex-parte meeting between him and prosecutors. Defense attorneys have labeled the meeting “unlawful,” leading to attorney Brian Steel being held in contempt and sentenced to a 20-day jail term, which has since been reversed after the state Supreme Court granted him bond.

Glanville has defended the private meeting, citing several laws to justify it, and ruled that the transcript of the meeting should be released.
