Yung Joc gives some valuable advice to Sexyy Red as she rapidly ascends within the music industry.
On Wednesday, the Atlanta rapper had a conversation with VladTV where he expressed his opinions on the “SkeeYee” superstar. Initially, Joc praised Sexyy Red for living in her truth but also offered a word of caution about buying into the buzz surrounding her.
“She’s not trying to pretend to be something she’s not,” Joc said. “I think she’s comfortable in her truth. But I think she has to be careful with being exploited.”
He continued, “I’m seeing the way she presents herself, and it’s not that she don’t know better. It’s what she’s comfortable with doing. I’m not knocking Sexyy Red. I don’t want nobody to think I’m knocking her. I just think she should be a little more sensible when it comes to the censorship because these babies be listening to this sh*t, you know what I’m saying? Gotta check those h*e spirits.”
In another part of the interview, the host mentioned the significance of safeguarding younger generations from certain themes in music. Joc then shared how his mother ensured the well-being of him and his brother when she was a single parent. However, he also noted that the current generation of women is somewhat different in their approach.
“Now, these women is letting it be known, like, yo, ‘I’ll do you and your brother, Thats my lick back,” he added. “And that’s just not Sexyy Red. There are a lot of women doing that, too, but Sexyy Red has a different approach. She has a downright ‘I’m in the hood, I’m out the hood approach. I’m promoting classic ratchet h*e activity.’ And that’s just what it is.
“I’m not gonna judge her off of her music because I have been judged off of the music. But, I don’t know, I have never met Sexyy Red. She could be a real down chick, a real good person,” Joc continued. “She could be a viable citizen. But listening to her music, she seems like a little hood chick that’s just doing her thing.”
