An urgent safety alarm is sounding for beauty enthusiasts as a U.K. retail chain halts the sale of two perfumes from Rihanna’s collection.
Reports from The Mirror indicate that the fragrances “Kiss” and “RiRi” are being stripped from Savers stores across the U.K. and Europe. The immediate removal is due to the presence of hazardous ingredients flagged for causing severe health complications in women and potential harm to pregnancies.
The investigation identified two specific additives: hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional. In simpler terms, these are Lyral and Lilial. Lyral was banned following a surge in extreme allergic outbreaks among consumers. Lilial was outlawed to protect the female reproductive system and prevent developmental issues in unborn children. Despite a 2022 mandate banning these toxins in the U.K. and E.U., they were recently discovered in existing stock.

If you own the 15ml versions of these scents, check your packaging immediately. The specific batch codes linked to the health hazard are 0608940572252 for “Kiss” and 0608940560389 for “RiRi.” Savers has confirmed they are providing total refunds to any affected shoppers.
“Savers have today (3rd March 2026) issued a recall of the above fragrance lines as some have been found to contain ingredients – hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional, which are prohibited from sale in the UK.”

The company is urging buyers to return the toxic batches to their local storefronts to ensure public safety.
“Customers should return any of the above products purchased at a Savers store to the place of purchase, where they will be issued a full refund.”
The retailer expressed regret over the situation, noting, “If you are unsure if you have one of the above products, please speak to our store teams who will be happy to help. Savers would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
