The stage lights are back on for Sinbad, and this time the comeback carries real weight. More than five years after suffering a stroke, the comedy icon announced he’s returning to stand-up for his first live shows since 2020. Sinbad is set to perform at the Ice House in Pasadena, California, marking a major milestone in his recovery journey.

In a video shared online, the 69-year-old kept it honest about where he’s been and where he’s headed. “I can’t walk. Since the stroke in 2020, I have not been on stage. I’m gonna get my feet wet April 29 and May 10 at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena, California. It’s just the beginning of me coming back,” he said.
And if you know Sinbad, you know he wasn’t about to return quietly.
“I’m so looking forward to these shows. I got so much stuff to talk about. I’m gonna be talking more trash than I ever talked.” Even after years of recovery, the timing clearly never left him.
Making the moment even bigger, his daughter Paige will open the shows. Sinbad joked, “I’m looking forward to this because she talks more trash than I talk.” A family legacy and roast session all in one night.
He also took a moment to thank the people who never stopped rooting for him. “I thank you for all the prayers that people prayed for me. It worked.”
Paige later called the night something she would “ALWAYS cherish,” noting that many comedy clubs were not accessible for her father during her own career journey. That reality made this return hit even harder.
Sinbad has already stepped back into acting recently, but this stage return feels different. For fans who grew up on his movies, TV roles, and legendary stand-up energy, the message is simple: he’s not done yet.
