Stefon Diggs is making it clear that his bank account is off-limits. The former New England Patriots wide receiver has filed a request for a judge to shut down a move by Christopher Blake Griffith to get a look at his NFL contract and career earnings.
Diggs’ legal team argues that how much he makes on the field has absolutely nothing to do with the sexual assault allegations at the center of their court battle.
This push for financial transparency is the latest twist in a mess that started back in 2023. Griffith, a social media influencer and stylist, has publicly accused Diggs of drugging and sexually assaulting him after a night out following a charity basketball game. Diggs didn’t just deny it, he sued Griffith for libel, claiming the entire story was a fairy tale invented for clout and followers.
Griffith isn’t backing down, though. He’s pushing for the financial records because Diggs’ defamation suit claims his reputation and business deals were damaged. Griffith’s attorney, Jake Lebowitz, is making the case that Diggs shouldn’t be able to sue for financial harm while refusing to show the numbers. Mr. Griffith is looking forward to showing the world in Court that regardless of the fairy tale fabricated by Mr. Diggs’ high-priced New York Lawyers, he is the victim of Mr. Diggs’ unwanted sexual advances and his brother’s violent attacks, Lebowitz stated.
The situation has only gotten heavier with Griffith’s claims that Diggs’ brother, Darez, was involved in a violent elevator attack to keep the alleged incident quiet.
While Diggs maintains that Griffith is just trying to tarnish his name, Griffith insists the truth will come out in discovery. For now, the judge has to decide if Diggs has to hand over the paperwork or if his millions stay private.
