Food Network is swinging for the fences with its latest competition series. The network announced Wednesday that “100 Cooks” — billed as “the biggest home cook competition of all time” — will premiere Sunday, June 7, at 9 p.m. ET, with Terry Crews leading the charge as host.
The premise is as audacious as the title suggests: 100 elite home cooks enter a stadium-style kitchen arena, where a “Challenge Mixer” randomly selects contestants and assigns them everything from fast-paced trivia contests to 30-minute do-or-die cooking battles. As the field narrows, the stakes grow — winners can pocket their round’s cash prize or roll it into an ever-growing pot, with the last cook standing taking home up to $250,000.
Joining Crews on the judging panel are chef Alex Guarnaschelli and content creator Nick DiGiovanni. Guarnaschelli is a longtime Food Network mainstay and Chopped judge, while DiGiovanni brings a younger, digital-native energy to the table — the Harvard grad andMasterChef Season 10 finalist finished as the youngest-ever finalist on that show before building a massive following through his YouTube channel and racking up multiple Guinness World Records for culinary feats.
Crews himself is no stranger to high-energy hosting. The former NFL defensive end — who played for teams including the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles before pivoting to Hollywood — has helmed “America’s Got Talent” since 2019, along with spinoffs “AGT: Champions”and “AGT: Extreme.”
The announcement comes as Food Network ramps up its competition slate. Bobby Flay also recently teased a forthcoming series on his podcast, telling a guest: “I am starting a new series for Food Network. I can’t really tell you what it is, but it’s going to be, I think, the quintessential Food Network show.”
“100 Cooks” premieres June 7 on Food Network.
