A third person has died after crowds rushed the exit following a GloRilla and Finesse2tymes concert that took place over the weekend in Rochester, N.Y.
The third victim, who authorities say died Wednesday night, was identified as Aisha Stephens, 35, of Syracuse. Two other women, Rhondesia Belton, 33, of Buffalo and Brandy Miller, 35, of Rochester, also died after getting caught in a surge of concertgoers who rushed the Armory venue doors after believing they heard gunfire.
Earlier this week, police said an investigation had been launched into the incident. In the interim, the city has barred the venue from hosting “any pubic entertainment, which includes concerts, amplified music, and athletic events or games.”
While there’s been no clear evidence that shots were fired, Rochester Chief of Police, David Smith, said they are looking at the possibility that the stampede was caused by “possibly crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and other contributing factors.”
GloRilla spoke out regarding the incident after news broke Monday.
“I am devastated and heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show. My fans mean the world to me, praying for their families and for a speedy recovery of everyone affected,” she tweeted.
