As people struggle to cope with the Astroworld tragedy, Travis Scott and several others have been hit with a $2 billion lawsuit.
On Thursday, the lawsuit was filed on behalf of 282 victims who attended the fateful music fest. San Antonio, Texas attorney Thomas Henry, who is representing the victims, says that the venue and Scott were only interested in making money, even if it placed thousands of lives at risk.
The long list of defendants ranges in age from teenagers to 40. Their injuries include broken bones, brain injuries, and heart attacks. Henry also says the sheer emotional toll that this event caused cannot be measured.
“Those who were injured are still very traumatized because they had to step over dead bodies. They didn’t have a choice because there was nowhere to move,” he stated.
In addition to Scott, Drake, and event organizers, Live Nation, Apple Music, and NRG Stadium are named in the suit.
This latest claim comes shortly after Houston attorney Tony Buzbee filed a $750 million suit on behalf of 125 Astroworld victims he is representing, all with similar injuries and mental trauma stemming from the deadly concert that claimed the lives of 10 people.
Scott has kept a pretty low profile since issuing his controversial apology video and agreeing to cover funeral costs for the deceased. Protesters have shown up at his home with signs, and several brands have chosen not to do business with him. Nike has postponed a new sneaker collab with the rapper, while Fortnite pulled Scott references from their games.
