Twitter is “exploring” the thought of implementing a dislike/downvote feature after the idea was pitched to the company by a “cybersecurity expert,” Complex reports.

An expert for Joe Biden’s campaign offered suggestions for Twitter to prioritize rather than adding the recently launched “fleets” feature. The expert’s idea included: Removing all coordinated inauthentic behavior, Improving user experience regarding harassment and reporting, Add [a] dislike button or downvote capability and, Disinformation harming users.

Kayvon Beykpour, Product Lead at Twitter, responded to the suggestion by tweeting that the company is open and working to implement the suggested features.

“#1, 2, and 4 are literally our top priority (making the public conversation on Twitter) and has been for years. We’ve made a lot of progress but still lots to do. We do feel it’s important to solve other problems too! As for #3, this is something we’re exploring.”

On Tuesday, Twitter Launched the Fleets feature worldwide. It was created by the company as a “lower pressure way” to assist users who are not comfortable with tweeting a standard tweet.

“Fleets are for sharing momentary thoughts—they help start conversations and only stick around for 24 hours,” design director Joshua Harris and product manager Sam Haveson explained earlier this month.

The feature can consist of text, tweet reactions, photos, or videos.
