The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) had canceled in-person classes after receiving a mass shooting threat.
UCLA students will be reporting to their homes for learning after a former lecturer for the university posted a video discussing race and a mass shooting. According to the Los Angeles Times, the lecturer allegedly sent an 800-page manifesto that included threats toward people at the school. In a portion of the document, it reads, “da war is comin. forward dis [explitive] to our tha goldhead caucasoid princess.”
A video titled “UCLA PHILOSOPHY (MASS SHOOTING)” was also reportedly posted to a YouTube page Saturday night, Fox News reports. The video included footage from the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, as well as a movie that was “loosely based on the Columbine High School mass shooting.”
UCLA released a statement, sharing that the Los Angeles Police Department is “aware of a concerning email and posting sent to some members of the UCLA community today and actively engaging with out-of-state law enforcement and federal agencies.”
