Young Thug is finally speaking on the fallout with Rich Homie Quan and according to him, he never switched sides.

The latest discourse started after Thug shared an old video of himself and Quan together with the caption, “Never switched on you brada. Always road with u what happened.” While some fans viewed the post as a heartfelt tribute, others questioned whether the history between the two was really that simple.
Soon after, some of Quan’s longtime affiliates appeared to challenge Thug’s version of events publicly. Rich Homie Monta wrote, “Don’t ride for me,” while Rich Homie Dre blamed the fractured relationship on “Pride & Ego.”

Thug immediately responded.
“Quan went against me my n***a how was it my pride? If you homie do some bullsh*t towards u u suppose to reach out first,?” Young Thug wrote.

He later doubled down while explaining why he distanced himself from YFN Lucci at one point out of loyalty to Quan.
“I didn’t f**k with Lucci ‘cause Quan didn’t. He felt like Lucci did a song with a n***a that dissed him on the song. Wasn’t my problem but was my brada so I was with him, then he stop f**king with me cause he thought he was bigger along [which] I had no problem with but now yall p***ies wanna post about a real n***a to Quan.”

The exchange instantly reopened conversations about one of Atlanta rap’s most iconic partnerships and how quickly it unraveled.
Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan first linked around 2013 through Birdman’s Rich Gang camp. Their chemistry became undeniable almost immediately as records like “Lifestyle,” “Tell Em,” and “Flava” helped define an entire era of melodic rap. By 2014, the duo looked unstoppable, with fans treating Rich Gang like rap’s next supergroup.
But by 2015, things reportedly started shifting behind the scenes.
Quan slowly distanced himself from Rich Gang and Birdman while Young Thug stayed closely aligned with Cash Money. Collaborations became rare, public appearances stopped, and subtle comments from both sides fueled speculation that business disagreements, loyalty issues, and ego all played a role in the split.
Even after the fallout, both artists occasionally showed each other love publicly over the years, which kept fans hopeful a reunion could eventually happen. That reconciliation never fully materialized before Rich Homie Quan’s passing in 2024.
Earlier this year, Young Thug honored Quan during a performance of “Lifestyle” during Coachella weekend and later admitted he regretted never fixing their issues privately before it was too late.
