Spike Lee may have been tapped to direct Marvel’s next movie “Nightwatch.”
#Nightwatch was written by “Luke Cage” showrunner #CheoHodariCoke and follows the story of a Black scientist named Dr. Kevin Trench and his alter ego Nightwatch. The Nightwatch story joined the #Marvel universe in 1993 in the “Web of Spider-Man.”
The original draft was written by Ed Ricourt. The premise of the film is about Dr. Trench, who is a man who finds his corpse wearing a futuristic suit of armor, and steals it so he can fight crime while wearing it. The comic didn’t last very long, but the character has prominent points in the Marvel world as he even fights alongside Captain America.

Lee’s contribution to the project is still in its early stages as he just wrapped up Netflix’s “She’s Gotta Have It” and is now working with #JordanPeele on a new film called “The Black Klansman.”
