Catya Washington says she dated Drake for about a year, and she told all of it to Philly’s Hot 107.9.
The Bad Girls Club star, known to fans as Ms. Cat, sat down with Q Deezy in her hometown and said the two met on the set of Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” video in 2009. She says she was the only Black woman in the video, and the two hit it off sitting on the bleachers between takes and tweeting back and forth afterward.
Things moved fast from there. “He flew me out to Toronto,” Catya said. “One flight turned into 10. And next thing you know I had a toothbrush there.” She says they were officially dating within a month, and that it went from 0 to 60.
According to Catya Washington, this was no fling. She says she met his mother and that Drake showered her with gifts. “I was in love. He was in love,” she said. “I’m talkin’ family dinners, we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around, it was a regular relationship.”
She says it fell apart once Drake started getting “a little bit too loose.” He started popping up in the tabloids with model Maliah Michel, and taking trips to Jamaica that Catya says she wasn’t invited on and never heard about. “I’m from South Philly, you know we don’t go for that,” she said. “That was my dude, not somebody I was just kickin’ it with.” She also says her decision to join Bad Girls Club became a big issue between them.
Catya didn’t stop at the relationship. She got very graphic on air about their sex life, enough to leave Drake red faced somewhere in Toronto.
Drake has never acknowledged dating her. That isn’t new for him. He has been linked to model after model, including Bria Myles and Maliah, and he has made no secret of carrying a torch for Rihanna. He name drops Maliah in his songs, but until this interview, nobody had heard of Catya.
So either Drake had a whole relationship nobody knew about, or Ms. Cat just found the fastest way to get everybody talking about her. Either way, it worked.
