Girl Jumped and Dies

13-year-old Kashala Francis passed away after two teens attacked her as she walked home from school.

According to ABC News, Kashala’s mother says her daughter, who was a student at Attucks Middle School in Houston, was kicked in the head during the attack, and that kick led to a coma.

A week later, she passed away.

Doctors at the Texas Children’s Hospital believe that a tumor in the back of her head may have been exacerbated by the fight and are awaiting an autopsy to determine whether the injuries from the fight caused the young girl’s death or if it was the tumor itself.

A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department said that her death is being investigated as a homicide until evidence proves otherwise.

So far no arrests have been made, and Houston Police offered no further details.
