The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees were announced on Wednesday. Several of them earned their first nominations. 

An artist or band is eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame 25 years after their first commercial release. This year’s first-time nominees include Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, and more. 

More than 1,000 artists, industry professionals, and music historians vote on the nominees. Voters consider multiple criteria, such as length of career, influence on other musicians, and their body of work.
