A Texas mother is demanding answers after her 3 month old daughter’s arm was reportedly broken following her first day at a daycare in Spring, Texas.
According to Click 2 Houston, the mother, Alecia, dropped her baby off at Children’s Lighthouse Spring Harmony. During the day, she checked the daycare’s monitors to see how her daughter was doing.
Alecia said she was alarmed by what she saw. “What I saw was one of the workers reach over into her under the crib to pick her up, and then I saw a panic,” she said.
She said she called the daycare after seeing workers crowd around her daughter, then rushed over to pick her up. Seeing her baby in distress, she took her straight to the emergency room.
Alecia said doctors and x-rays confirmed the arm was broken. She said she has since filed a report with authorities, hired an attorney, and filed a lawsuit against the daycare.
Children’s Lighthouse Spring Harmony responded with a statement. The daycare said it takes the matter “extremely seriously,” that it contacted the child’s mother and sought medical attention right away, and that it reported the incident to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
The allegations are the mother’s claims and the lawsuit is just getting started.
