Joseline Hernandez says Faith Evans marrying Stevie J was the best thing that could have happened to her, and she made that clear sitting down with Shannon Sharpe for Club Shay Shay on September 16.
“Thank God that old [expletive] came around and took that man,” Joseline said, recalling her history with Stevie J and how Faith Evans entering the picture changed things for her. “She took him away from me. She helped me.”
Joseline and Evans go back further than most fans realize. Joseline recalled Evans coming by the house early on “to do music” with Stevie J, though she suggested there was more happening between the two of them than studio sessions at the time. Even with that history, Joseline framed Evans stepping in as a rescue rather than a betrayal. She told Sharpe she was already in the process of leaving Stevie J by the time Faith Evans made her move, and that she has no hard feelings about how it played out.
Joseline and Stevie J’s relationship played out across six seasons of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, with Joseline going from an aspiring artist signed to his label to one of the show’s biggest breakout stars. The two share a child together and years of getting back together and breaking up again, a dynamic that made their public falling out feel inevitable once Stevie J and Faith Evans made their own relationship official. Evans and Stevie J married in 2018 and divorced in 2023, but Joseline’s gratitude toward her has not wavered since.
On “Club Shay Shay,” Joseline went a step further, telling Sharpe that if Faith Evans had not come along when she did, she might never have met her now husband, Balistic Beats. Joseline and Balistic Beats are currently expecting their second child together, and Joseline said motherhood and her marriage have put her in one of the best places of her life.
Joseline did not stop there. She walked Sharpe through her path from stripping at 17 to becoming a reality television fixture, her decision to leave Love & Hip Hop after six seasons to build her own ventures, and where she stands now with Joseline’s Cabaret and her streaming network. Stevie J has not publicly responded to Joseline’s comments about Faith Evans “saving” her.
