Ciara is pregnant with her fifth child, and Russell Wilson has been telling anybody with a microphone that this was the plan for a while now. The singer announced it on Instagram Sunday with a caption that read simply, one more person to Love.
A video panning across four white shirts hanging on a clothesline in the sun, each one carrying the name of a child already in the house. Future. Sienna. Win. Amora. Then Ciara walks up carrying a tiny blank onesie, hangs it at the end of the line, and turns to the camera grinning. She was wearing rollers in her hair. Later slides show the couple holding up five fingers.
Now, about the campaign. Russell Wilson has not been subtle. After Amora was born in December 2023, he started asking about a fifth almost immediately. Ciara has said she told him to slow it down. He named the hypothetical baby anyway. Cinco. That is what he has been calling this child publicly for two years before there was a child.
He was still at it in July. At Fanatics Fest, he said they have four amazing kids and he was trying to convince Ciara to have a fifth, then said out loud to a baby that did not exist yet that Cinco needed to be on the way soon. He added that he wants five, that Ciara wants five too, and that hopefully he could convince her. That interview ran less than two months before Sunday’s announcement, which means when he was talking, the answer was already in motion.
Ciara is 40. Wilson is 37. They married in 2016 and celebrated ten years in July. Their kids are Sienna Princess, 9, Win Harrison, 6, and Amora Princess, 2, plus Future Zahir, 12, Ciara’s son with Future. Wilson has talked openly about stepping into that role. Earlier this year on I Am Athlete he said that raising a child with Ciara was part of how he knew she was the one for him, and that he was ready for the responsibility.
The timing lands in the middle of a full reset year for both of them. Wilson retired in June after 14 seasons in the NFL and is joining CBS Sports as an analyst on The NFL Today, which means his first fall in two decades where the schedule belongs to him instead of a team. Ciara released her EP YES PACK in August.
La La Anthony was in the comments immediately, saying she was making space over at Auntie La’s house and that she was cheesing so hard. The rest of the comment section did what it always does for these two, which is remember that Ciara wrote out a list of what she wanted in a man, got Russell Wilson, and has been running a victory lap ever since.
