Police searched Trippie Redd’s mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida, on Tuesday, serving a search warrant at the rapper’s famous all-black estate as part of an ongoing investigation.
Several police cars were seen outside the home. The Davie Police Department confirmed its officers helped serve the warrant, but the case belongs to the City of Miami Police Department, which is leading the investigation. Officials have not said what the warrant was for, what investigators were looking for, or whether the 27 year old rapper, born Michael Lamar White, is the focus of the case.
The search comes just months after Trippie was arrested in July at Miami International Airport. He was taken into custody while trying to board a flight to France, on an active warrant out of Miami-Dade County that dated back to 2023. Police have not connected that arrest to Tuesday’s search.
Trippie Redd’s mansion is one of the most recognizable celebrity homes in South Florida. He bought the property in 2022 for $7.5 million, well below the $12.5 million it had been listed for a year earlier. The nearly 19,000 square foot estate sits on more than four acres in Broward County and has nine bedrooms, an indoor basketball court, a piano room and an on-site recording studio. In 2024, he had the entire exterior painted black, from the walls to the roof to the driveway, and the makeover went viral.
This is not his first run-in with law enforcement. Trippie was arrested twice in Atlanta in 2018 in separate alleged assault cases. He took a plea deal in one, and prosecutors declined to pursue the other.
Trippie and his team have not publicly responded to the search.
