50 Cent is taking legal action against the release of the horror film Skill House, claiming the film’s producers used his image and name without his permission or a finalized contract.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday, the rapper and media mogul says he never agreed to a finished deal with GenTV and its founder Ryan Kavanaugh, yet his name and likeness are being used to market the movie. According to the court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, 50 Cent says he provided his acting talents based on an informal agreement and good faith talks but never signed anything official.

Despite this, promotional materials list him as both a star and a producer. 50 says this happened without his approval and that he has not received any payment for the work or for the use of his image.

He also emphasized that he only works on projects where he has creative input and oversight. That was not the case with Skill House, and now he wants the project shut down.

50 is seeking at least $5 million in damages and an injunction to stop the movie from being released. He accuses Kavanaugh of moving forward without a signed deal and says the use of his likeness is unauthorized.
