In a recent social media video circulating online, the singer addressed his current condition while acknowledging that he has yet to seek another medical evaluation despite believing both organs are giving him problems.
“My liver is f**ked up. My heart is still f**ked up. I wake up, and I know it. I still don’t give a f**k. I still haven’t went and got it checked.”
His latest remarks come after months of documented health scares and previous statements about serious heart problems.
Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas in January 2026 after experiencing heart pain and a severe case of pneumonia. The singer underwent testing during the hospitalization, including X-rays and an echocardiogram.
After leaving the hospital, Ray J gave followers an unsettling update about his heart health. He told followers in a January 25 Instagram video that his heart was functioning at what he described as only 25 percent.
“My heart’s only beating 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right,” Ray J said at the time. “My health is not OK, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me through everything I’ve been in the hospital.”
The situation appeared even more serious days later. Ray J said during another livestream that doctors had given him a grim outlook about his future. He also publicly connected his health problems to his previous use of alcohol and drugs.
Ray J said at the time that he had pushed his body too far and described a history of heavy alcohol and Adderall use.
His treatment plan also appeared extensive. Ray J said doctors prescribed him eight medications related to his heart condition. He identified Lipitor, Jardiance, and Entresto among the medications and said doctors had discussed the possibility that he could eventually need a pacemaker or defibrillator.
Ray J appeared to have some encouraging news shortly afterward. The singer said on January 30 that he felt better following a visit with a doctor. His representative also characterized the medical visit positively.
His health became a concern again several months later.
In May, Ray J participated in a celebrity fight against internet personality Supa Hot Fire at an event in Las Vegas. According to TMZ, sources connected to the event said Ray J underwent an extensive medical evaluation before entering the ring and was cleared to compete. The reported screening included an MRI, MRA, chest X-ray, EKG, eye examination, and full physical, with the results reviewed as part of the clearance process.
Ray J was knocked out during the May 23 fight and later checked himself into a Las Vegas hospital. TMZ reported that doctors were examining him for a possible concussion while also investigating concerns involving a slower heartbeat. He was eventually released.
Ray J told followers he was “Getting better” following the hospitalization.
His medical history also predates the problems he disclosed this year. Ray J was hospitalized with pneumonia in Miami in 2021. His longtime manager, David Weintraub, said at the time that the illness was not contagious, while Ray J reportedly required oxygen and used an inhaler during treatment.
That history makes Ray J’s newest admission especially notable. Earlier in 2026, he repeatedly described doctor visits, testing, medication,s and family members helping him navigate his health crisis. Now, months later, he says he knows something still feels wrong but has not gone back to have his heart and liver checked.
There is currently no publicly verified medical information establishing Ray J’s present heart function or confirming that he has liver disease. What is clear from his own latest words is that he remains concerned about both organs while acknowledging that he has not sought the follow-up evaluation needed to determine what is actually happening.
