Teyana Taylor says her director on “Gang of Roses 2” hit her right in her abscessed tooth during a bloody fight on set, after he refused to let her go home while she was in pain.
The cast was shooting the western sequel outside Los Angeles over the weekend when Teyana’s tooth got so bad she couldn’t keep working. She says she asked over and over for a car service to take her home. Director Jean Claude La Marre kept telling her no.
Teyana finally got in his face and started yelling. She says he yelled right back, “Don’t [expletive] scream at me, [expletive],” and then pushed her in the face, hitting the exact tooth that was already throbbing. She says she was only defending herself after that.
Crew members had to pull the two apart. When it was over, Teyana Taylor says her shirt had been ripped open, she had been hit in the nose and mouth, and her denim shorts were covered in blood.
La Marre tells a completely different story. He says Teyana jumped on him and started swinging, and that he only defended himself. He insists he never hit her. He also accuses her of kicking camera equipment and destroying property on set.
At first, La Marre said he would not press charges because of the age difference. Teyana is 20 and he is 40, and he waved the whole thing off by saying kids lash out.
He changed his mind days later. La Marre filed charges against Teyana Taylor with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s office. In a statement to BOSSIP, he said she has a history of violence and that more than twenty crew members gave statements saying they watched her charge at him.
His full version goes like this. Teyana said her toothache was too painful to film. She was told to leave, refused, and La Marre yelled at her to go. He says she came at him at that point. Crew members pulled her off and held her back, and then, he says, she broke loose and started fighting the crew too.
Teyana’s camp has not backed down. Her team says she is considering legal action of her own.
La Marre is pushing ahead with the movie, which also stars Amber Rose and Claudia Jordan. He says he has written Teyana’s character out by killing her off.
