Carmelo Anthony has been slapped with a temporary restraining order over allegations of stalking and kidnapping children. However, since then, the baller has filed a response to the TRO, calling the allegations “utter nonsense.”
In a new declaration filed by Anthony in response to the woman’s suit, the Brooklyn-bred baller claims he’s never even met this woman, who’s been identified as a woman named Cheryl, The Blast reports.
Anthony says the allegations are “very strange,” but suggests the woman “get professional help,” as he believes her to be “unstable and confused.”
“My hope is that the court in Santa Monica can recognize that this is a situation in which Cheryl…is unstable and confused and needs help,” Anthony said, according to The Blast.
In the initial filing, Cheryl claimed Anthony threatened to shoot her and her family over a rejection. She said she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him, which supposedly led to the threats.
The woman was then granted the TRO until yesterday’s hearing, where Anthony filed his own docs. However, he was unable to settle the issue, after the court ruled his declaration was “faulty” without a date.
A new hearing has been scheduled for later this month, until then, the TRO stands.
